Approximately half of the population has
some form of venous
disease. Varicose
veins affect 20-25% of all adults. However,
with endovenous
laser therapy, no
surgery is needed,
and works by delivering
laser energy through
a small puncture in
the leg to close
the diseased vein.
The entire procedure
is often performed in less than an
hour in our office.
During the procedure, you are awake, and
your leg is numbed
using Novacaine.
A thin laser fiber
is inserted into
the greater saphenous
vein in your thigh.
Our physician will deliver laser energy
through the fiber
and into the vein,
causing the vein
to close. Blood
is routed through healthy veins.
Endovenous laser is a procedure that is
covered by most insurance
companies and medicare.
